Old and New Part III

Okay this is the last post from Philly. This is in Doris's backyard..which by the way is so very small. It is probably the size of three full bathrooms. I am not good with the metric system.
Tim uses scissors to trim the grass instead of a weed eater.
We sat outside on Friday for some fun in the sun. Some sweet pics with me and my girl.

Here is a summary of the rest of our trip in Philly and the events of the funeral. On Saturday we drove up to Jersey and stayed in a friend's home for the night so we would not have to wake up at 4am to make it to the funeral in New York City at 11:00. That night we drove into NY to have a dinner with all the Kungs. I didn't get any pictures because Ryan and I had our hands full with the kiddos. We were in a room that was big enough to fit two large round tables that could seat maybe a dozen people and there was only enough room left for maybe 5 people to stand. It was a small room. So ER, who has to run around, kept trying to escape the room and would not sit to eat at all. On top of it, she did not nap in the car, was starving and had a bit of a cold/allergies. She was pretty miserable. ( If you have little ones, you can sympathize). So finally after holding a squirmy fussy ER for half an hour, passing her off to one another, after several trips to the coy pond in the restaurant, and seeing that I was frazzled by the situation, Ryan made an executive decision and took ER outside and strolled her around the block a few times then ended up sitting in the van with her so she could watch Nemo and eat snacks. Poor guy, he didn't get to eat any food or meet all the family. He did that and other sacrificial acts that entire weekend so I could be apart of all the events of the funeral and see my family. I was so thankful for Ryan and how he constantly insisted on my participating and how he without question took ER off my hands. So much so that he got sick.
Thanks Ryan for serving me in that way and making sure I was apart of all the events of the funeral!
Here is the view we had as we were driving into New York city Sunday morning for the funeral. We got into Jersey the night before after the dinner around midnight and woke up at 5:30 am the next morning. Ryan said that on Sunday we were in the car from 7am till about 10 pm and we were only OUT of the car for maybe a total of 4 hours! The rest of the time was drive time. So you can imagine what is going on in the car during those hours. We are stuck in traffic almost the entire time, I am nursing Dean in the very back of the van, Sharon is tending to ER, and Lon is up front helping Ryan get around the city. It was crazy. I almost lost it several times. The car was a total mess, I was changing dean and ER 's diapers on my lap as we are in traffic, ER is crying, snack bowls and sippy cups are flying...it was ....ummm...memorable.
Sin was defiantly being revealed by all persons in the car!

This was at the burial site. A floral arrangement. Again, I did not get any pics cause we had the babies. So these few were taken by Sharon with my camera.
Here are all the children. My dad is on the far right. 7 in all.
I wanted a picture of everyone and certainly of all my cousins. I have so many cousins on my Dad's side! They are all about my age. Nine in all.
Sharon entertained and took care of ER the entire car trip. Thank you so much sis! I don't know what I would have done without you! Here she is playing peek a boo with ER. This is what Dean did the entire time- thank goodness! Sleep, eat and poop.
Some pics I got from the car as drove around New York City and Manhattan...
Sleepy girl- sharon took this one. I love it.
Ground zero

another of ground zero

This is at a banquet we attended back in China town after the burial. ER got her first red pocket from my grandmother. A red pocket is small red envelope filled with some money that adults give to their children or children in their family. It is a Chinese tradition. She did MUCH better at this meal. She happily played with chopsticks and ice on her plate. And only tried to escape the restaurant a few times.

ER with Autie Kay. I have the best uncles and aunties. I love them all!
We had some yummy food: lobster, duck, fish, soup, seafood dishes and more!
ER what she does best, pick pocket. She loves to get into purses. Note the hair nest on the back of her head. She had that for two days from being in the car so long. My cousin Joshua is next to her, who is getting married in October!, and Kinsen and Mary are in the background.
I didn't get a pic of all my many cousins. I was too busy with the babies. I wish I could have been able to talk with them more. I have some very cool cousins...

We visited over at Grandma's apartment after the lunch. ER with Auntie Camille.
...entertaining everyone around her with her cuteness. She literally had people around her in the picture.
We attempted an entire family picture with Grandma. My children were not cooperating...as you can see. Dean was so sleepy and was bawling his head off and Ella Reese, ...well she just does not sit still. My Grandma is so very sweet. I love her.
After several camera shots, Ryan continues to try to get ER to be still. And see me holding a pacey in Dean's mouth trying to rock him. It is hilarious to me now that I look at them..but not so funny then.

NEW
I took these maybe three weeks ago, and already I think he looks different. I took these with my point and shoot Canon. It is what I had near me at the time...although there are not nearly as clear as my fancy camera. I still love them. I was trying to capture his different face expressions...
I love this little guy,...we are just crazy about him...
he tried to roll from his back to front today and almost got it!

This one is blurry but I like it. We had Lon and Sharon over for burgers and dogs on the grill last last Sunday. ER loves Lon and calls him "Wan". She didn't always love him. She actually use to cry when she saw him when she was younger. All night she kept saying wan wan over and over and she loved it when he started throwing her around.

Intermission...

I am taking a break from the Old and New series and had to post these few recent developments.
(Expect a lot of posts before Saturday...I am shooting the Doss wedding and any free time after I will spend on those pictures.)

First the Prince family has some very exciting news! ( no, I am not pregnant...)
Ryan has started his own business as of last Monday! He left job and has been working so hard this past week with jobs coming his way. The business is called Prince Technologies.

He does networking and audio/visual work. The best way I can describe it is if you go into the server room in any business or office, there are these tall towers that look like a bunch of DVD players with wires coming out of them all stacked on each other...that is what he does.
He has been talking and praying about doing this for a long time now, and the Lord has provided the opportunity for him to begin it!
We are so excited and I am so happy for him!
We would covet your prayers as any move like this there is still alot of uncertainties.
But we have our faith in God and are trusting him completely!
It is a wonderful place to be~ trusting in the Lord's faithfulness and goodness in a time of uncertainty.

In other news....
ER reading books to Dean. Soon after this she shoved a piece of green pepper she was eating into Dean's mouth. Yes, I know. I freaked out too.

Dean found his thumb! I think it is so cute! He is a pacey baby, but if he loses it at nap time, he uses his thumb.
He is officially sleeping through the night now! ( Hallelujah chorus..)
When we went to Philly he had started doing a 11:00 to 5 am shift, but we got all messed up and he started feeding again in the early AM. But since we've been back we've dropped that feeding and the last three nights he has slept from 8:30 till 6:30! Actually this morning at 7 am I had to wake him up cause I was hurting so bad. I am so thankful and so excited!

I was on the computer and looked down to see ER stacking blocks. I was so shocked because 1) she never really plays with her blocks and 2) She has never been able to stack them and when she tries gets frustrated and quits. So you can imagine my excitement and shock when I see her making these block towers. On top of that she was counting too! She can count to 8. Most of the time it is in correct order. She now associates block stacking with counting.

The biggest tower she has ever made. I promise I did not help at all! I just kept looking down and her towers kept getting taller!

Cooking with mommy last night.

After I took pics of her playing with the pots, Ryan came home and I got these super sweet pics of her lovin on Ryan. She just kept hugging him and saying "Da Da" over and over. She is usually not a lovey dovey girl, but since Ryan has been working so much lately she has been showing extra affection and excitement when she is with him.

Dean is rolling over! Two days ago he did it twice and I thought maybe he was more falling over to the side and accidentally rolled over. But last night during dinner he was having tummy time and he kept doing it! I think I counted 5 times he rolled over. I took several videos, but most of them you see me trying to put him back on his belly. This video is the last roll he did. What do you think? Am I crazy or is he doing it? (note: you can hear Ella Reese in the back asking me for milk)

Old and New Part II

My mom with her grandkids. It was the best one we could get them all still and where you could see their faces.

I love this picture. Isn't my mother gorgeous? Would you believe me if I told you she was in her early 60's?!

There was this play crib toy/changing table that ER kept trying to get in it, when it is really meant for dolls. Here she is unable to get OUT of it. I cracked up laughing.
bathtime with grandma
Dean has developed a mild case of eczema. Poor kiddo. It is really not that bad. His skin has is just rough in some places, but nearly as bad as ER's was.
The Princes stayed in one room, which we have never done before. So my main concern was making sure Dean didn't wake ER and vice versa. About the time of this trip Dean had begun sleeing through the night. (Going down for his last feeding at 10-11pm and waking at 5-6am. ) So when he woke up in the AM, I would try to grab him as soon as he made a peep. But usually after his feeding and his diaper change, some minimal noise would wake up ER. So the first night I was up with her at 5 AM. And we couldn't leave the room cause mom was sleeping in the living room and there was other palce for her to run around without waking up someone.

So we played in the bathroom and she loved Evie's bathroom seat. So I brought it to our room for her to play in. Notice Ryan is asleep to the right of her. He was dead to the world and did not recall anything.

At he very bottom of this post is a video of what else ER did to entertain herself. Sharon adn Lon flew in Thursday morning. The boys (tim, lon and ryan) went to a Philly's baseball game.

NEW
Mother's Day at Matt and Lauren's. All the momma's together. I love these girls!

A natural multi tasker like her momma
Pretending to go night night with Cole and Owen

kiss kiss
When I asked her to give Cole another kiss she obediantly and cheerfuly complied.
Yeah right!

This is a funny video. Ryan was working on his truck and had dirty hands. Ella Reese doesn't like to be dirty. It is funny to me becasue I think she is always dirty, but one little thing piece of dirt on her dirt covered hands will make her upset.

Note: we have started discipling her with a wooden spoon. We brought it with us and she had found it in this video.

Old and New

I am so far behind on blogging it is not funny. I decided that if I catch up on my blogging, all my new pictures will become old pictures and I will forever be posting a month behind. So for lack of time for blogging and editing pictures, I have decided to begin posting old and new pictures till I catch up. So here are raw, unedited pictures from the past month.

About a month ago we got news that my grandfather on my dad's side passed away. He was in his early 90's and has been totally paralyzed several years because of repeated strokes. He was such a kind, gentle,God fearing man. And my memories of him not totally paralyzed are very few. We were all shocked when we got the news because we had been waiting so long for the Lord to take him . But we rejoiced knowing that he is now with his Savior!

So Ryan decided that we would all drive up to NY for the funeral and spend some time with the entire Kung family. Dad had 7 brothers and sisters in all. So I packed all day and we left that night at 9pm- so the kiddos would sleep.
This is from the day we were packing. We put ER in Dean's crib to see what she would do. She just laid there, so we stuck a pacey in her mouth. We arrived in Philly the next morning on Wednesday around 9am. This is my cutie pie niece Evie.
Yes, I had enough energy to take pictures when we got there. Don't ask me how or why. I was exhausted.

The cousins playing in this huge beautiful window in the front of the house.

We stayed in Philly where my sister lives till the funeral in NY that weekend.

I like this one of Doris Evie lovin on ER.
NEW

These are from last week and were taken with my point and shoot.

Dean is growing like crazy. Mostly his head is growing. It looks bigger every day to me.
He is almost 4 months now- can you believe that!!!
He is...holding his head up well, starting to roll a bit on his back and pulls his legs up to his chest and kicks, scoots himself up his crib and changing table. One morning I went to get him and found that he had squirmed so much that he had turned himself around completely.
The other day he rolled over..but it was a fluke. But it was exciting to see still!
I like this one. ER loves to "play" with Dean and his "toys". Her idea of playing with him is to lay under his play mat and lay next to him almost crushing him at times. Whenever she sees me putting me on the mat, she will run and trying to beat him to it she will lay on it.

Last Sunday Ella Reese is telling us that she is ready to go bye bye. She was just sitting there waiting for us like this. I was taking in some shoot time of Ella Reese while Dean was napping.
I tried out this new hair do. Her hair is getting so long. Except for her pigtails being off, I think it is cute. I'll have to try it again.
She's looking plump-ier. But trust me. She is still skinny minny.
Her face looks really round and at times has a double chin.
I love these pics.

She has started to say "cheese" when I take pictures of her. I love this one..it is rare that I get a smiley shot of her.

Eatin some PB&J.

We got a new flash for my camera. I call it my fancy flash. This is from foolin around with it in the car. I still have a lot to learn on it...but I do like this sweet pic of ER.

Coming up on the Old and New series...more pics of Dean and updates on ER. Continued Philly pics and our weekend in New York

No more popcorn

I just had a miserable last 30 minutes with ella reese…
I just gave her popcorn as a night snack.
And she got one of those thin shell-like things that sometimes get stuck in in your teeth and gums…..i don’t know what they are called…
But it got stuck in an impossible place in her mouth for me to get out.
It was like in between and stuck up in her gum against the back-side of her tooth in the front.
Ya,..so I couldn’t stick my finger in there cause I knew she would bite it off. I am serious, she would.
At first I thought it was only in between her teeth, so I was using my finger nail to get it out. Then I saw she was still messing with it and then she would say, “ popcorn, owie”,..so I knew it was still lodged somewhere in there…I just couldn’t see it.
Finally I saw it, after I had her head tilted back over my leg…and I am sure all the blood was rushing to her head. But I saw where it was. My first thought was panic. Because I knew my finger would not be able to get it. I almost considered that we would have to to take her to a dentist to get it out.
I started using her toys..anything that had a dull but pointed end to try to get this out. I ever brushed her teeth till her gum in the front bled..
Yes and she was completely still and patient for me the entire time!!! Yeah right!
I would get so angry that I would threaten her that I would spank her …. Bad mommy.
I even tried to floss her tooth! Ha!! That was fun.
Anyways, I decided that I would wait for Ryan to get home so we could deal with it together, and I started to think that maybe I did get it. I started putting her to bed and she looked at me and with her finger in her mouth said, “popcorn, owie”. So I looked one more time under bright lights, with her head bent back over my leg and saw how impossibly lodged up in her gum it was stuck.
It’s like I needed plyers to yank I out. So I grabbed my eyebrow tweezers. Which the sight of those freaked her out when I tried to stick them in her mouth.
You should have seen it.. I had her over my lap, trying to get her to open her mouth and say “cheese” for me…and I am using my elbows and arms to pin her down. She got so frazzled at one point that I just thought, "Okay. I need to get this out now! Even if her blood is rushing to her head and I have to pin her down with all my might". So I did. She started bawling . Which helped cause her mouth was open wide enough for me to get in there. She would not open her mouth open at all for me when she saw the tweezers. Her lips were pressed tight together.
So once I pulled it out, she stopped crying, opened her eyes and I showed her the kernel and she said “shooo”. ( for shooey. she says it whenever anything is gross or dirty)
I felt so bad for putting her through it that I immediately gave her kisses and told her what a good girl she was for obeying mommy. Cause she did most of the time when I told her to open her mouth.

Poor thing. Then as we got up and left the living room to go night night, the popcorn bowl was near by and she said “popcorn” and took a handful and ate them.
P.S. I am so behind on posting. Coming soon...family caravan to Philly, NY and VA, pics of babies and updates on them both , and potty stories.
