Random April Happenings

Periodically I will download all my pictures off my point and shoot Cannon Elph camera. And really only when the memory card is full. And I always find a ton of pictures from the past weeks that make me laugh.

Sharon's birthday was on the 21st and a few of us went to PF Chang's to celebrate. Dean was my date. He turned out to be a boring date,....he slept the entire time. But Joz was entertaining.

Our neighbor came by this past weekend with a like new toddler bed for Ella Reese.
She loves it. This was her first reaction to it.
She loves to lay on it and play on it. She still sleeps in her crib. We just went ahead and moved the toddler bed in her room too.

And she like to get on it when naked...
Likes to play peek- a-boo through tupperware lids.

In other news...Ryan got an old 78' Chevy pick up truck and we sold our Altima today! Dean is cooing and smiling really big more and more! He is getting huge! He turned 2 months on the 12th and is fitting into his 3-6 month stuff. All newborn clothes are too short and small. He slept through the night last night for the first time! I am crossing my finger...I hope he repeats it tonight! His cradle cap is still re-occuring. But the baby oil and comb works everytime. Dr. Perry said it can come back. Both babies are now offically in cloth diapers and are doing great in them. Saving a very small, small , small , small part of our world one cloth diaper at a time.

Family pictures

We have baby dedications at church this Sunday and we scrambled around Tuesday to get a family picture of us to the church. We were unable to find someone and I was going to attempt to just use our timer, then Nick ( Ryan's bro) showed up and we handed him our camera.

After a few votes and Ryan thinking the first one ( my fav) made him look feminine, we chose the last one.

Sepia, or not to Sepia...that is the question

I always see cool pictures in Sepia and decided to try it out. I am not sure yet if I like it. If I had Photoshop and could play with the texture and light,..maybe.
What do you think?

So I have more time than I thought...

If you are a mom you have probably sat with your hubby and said something like, "I can't believe how much time we had before we had baby. What did we do with all our time?". Well, now that we have two kids, Ryan and I have had a similar conversation, "I can't believe how much time we had when we had just Ella Reese! What did we do with all our time!".

The past week Dean has been sleeping longer and longer through the night, he is on a more predictable schedule and goes to sleep on his own. So today I realized that I really do have more time than I realized.

I have time to pay on the floor with ER and cuddle while we watch Curious George. I have time to sit and stare at Dean while we coo at each other. It is such a very special season.

The Lord has been graciously giving me a grateful heart the past few days. Grateful for these days I have with the babies. Before I blink, they will be 6 and 7 years old and my days, although maybe more scheduled and predictable and house more in order, will look very different.

And yes, I have more time to take photographs and blog. Ella Reese playing with Dean. It has been so hard to get a sweet picture of the two of them, cause she is usually doing something like this. But I think I got a pretty good one today. I'll post it later.

Attack of the Cradle Cap

Yes, it is happening to Dean. The attack of those yucky oily dandruff scales. This picture was before his scalp was covered in them.

With Ella Reese I heeded the advice of the " What to Expect the First Year" book and put vaseline in her hair to get it out. Did not work out for us as you can see...(to see evidence see one of my very first posts titled Cradle Cap).

Beckoning all mothers out there: Help! What am I to do? If anything it bothers only me.

I don't think Dean is experiencing any social anxiety about his snow covered scalp.

Dean at 6 Weeks Old

At 6 weeks ....

-Dean is cooing all the time. Just yesterday he started saying a new sound other than his "Ahh, Ahh" noise. In the mornings he likes to smile.

-He is kicking and moving around more. Often times I find him scooted up in his crib with blanket off and his body.

-He is growing more fond of his pacey.

-Takes occasional flicks, pokes in the eye, slaps on the head and momentary loss of his pacey from his dealry beloved sister.

At 20 months...

-ER has a growing love of carrying purses, talking on phones and wearing her and our shoes.

And she is completely infatuated with Curious George. I will hear her lying in her crib saying his name over and over then cracking up laughing. She also will lay in bed saying "Ouw, Ouwh " for ouch, over and over too. Don't know why. I don;t think her stuffed animals are hurting her...

-Knows and says more animal noises and the animal it comes from.

It seems like she does or says more new things everyday...so I will not exhaust you with all those little things. But she is such a joy!

Yesteray ER was pointing to a loaf of bread on the counter. She refused the bread I broke off from her. As I bent down to let her take a bit of the loaf instead, she snagged the whole things and started to run. Which watching her run is so funny...her legs move super fast and she swings one arm to gain momentum.
